Only an hour away from Banff, a trip to Kootenay National Park is well worth it! Not only do you cross the Great Divide, there is camping, day hikes, lakes, rivers and paint pots.

We went looking for Celtic fort ruins and we found them! High up on Mount Santa Trega we found a castro made up of oval dwellings. Home to 5,000 inhabitants at its zenith in the 1st century BC. Spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal and the Miño River

Smuggler Cove is a gorgeous all-weather anchorage on the south side of the Sechelt Peninsula. To access this park by land - hike a 4 km trail from the parking lot just off Highway 101. Fantastic!
