Postcard from Egypt's Western Desert

By day the hot sun fermented us; and we were dizzied by the beating wind. At night we were stained by dew, and shamed into pettiness by the innumerable silences of stars. ― T.E. Lawrence

This one stop on our much larger journey across Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. After leaving the crushing weight of Cairo and the pyramids, it's an unbelievable contrast to the empty and endless desert. It was a bit of a race to the dunes once the jeeps stopped; everyone wanted to be first to the top.

Sincerely,
Brendan
